Singapore

First of all the airport in Singapore is fabulous. They have butterflies and a garden!

I enjoyed Singapore so much the first time, I had to go back.

On Thanksgiving day, I went swimming with pink dolphins and a sea lion. At the Underwater World, they also have giant turtles and a lot of peacocks walking around. Sentosa Island is amazing and I recommend spending part of a day there if you have time. After swimming with the sea animals, I went to an American restaurant to have a traditional Thanksgiving meal, complete with pumpkin pie.

Sinapore is so amazing I hated to leave.

Orlando

I went to Orlando for one reason, DISNEY WORLD!!

I went on Splash Mountain and Space Mountain several times. I recommend getting a Fast Pass so you can make the most of your time.

I also had a self-portrait drawn of me. If you have the time, that is a nice souvenir. I happened upon a play while I was there, it was great. It had fireworks and everything.

London

I am in London!

London is fun and exciting. I went to see Windsor Castle. I learned a lot on the audio tour. I enjoyed the British Museum. It was exciting to see the Rosetta Stone and other parts of history. From my hotel, I have a pretty view of the park. Due to jet lag, I checked out London’s night life at this open late burger place. In addition to the museums, I also went to Harrods and Selfridges. Both stores are a must see even if you don’t plan on shopping but I recommend the shopping.

Also while in London, I tried fish and chips at a local pub. They were pretty good.

Until next time London.

Madagascar

Madagascar was very poor. I have seen poverty before through my travels to other places but Madagascar touched me in a way no other place has. I saw young kids working on the side of the road pounding rocks to make gravel and working in the field to gather clay and mud to make bricks. I found out many kids don’t get to go to school. I saw people brushing their teeth outside. The average person lives on $1 USD a day. Their houses are very small and mostly one tiny room. A lot of people do not have beds and sleep on leaves.

Madagascar is a beautiful country though and has lemurs. I hope to go back one day and help the people of Madagascar.

Mauritius

Mauritius is home of the now extinct dodo bird.

I toured a sugar factory. It is surprising how many types of sugar there are. I also toured a tea factory, I had no idea that the process was so involved and long.

The beach is amazing. It does not even look real. It looks like it is in a movie. From my hotel room at the St. Regis, I would be on the beach in ten steps from the back porch.

Mauritius was really relaxing and fun.

Bangkok

It was great touring the different historical sites around Bangkok. I enjoyed talking to the locals about their thoughts on political and economic issues within Thailand and also globally.

I learned the difference between the Thai and Chinese Buddha. The Chinese Buddha is larger with a bigger belly. The Thai Buddha is usually leaner and skinny compared to the Chinese one. It also usually has a headpiece of some sort on.

I went on Chao Phraya River tour. From the boat I could see fish and HUGE Monitor lizards. Those lizards looked like mini dinosaurs. Some of them were bigger than me. Note to everyone – stay out of the water as it is dirty and those lizards are big.

Krabi

The Ritz Carlton Reserve in Krabi, Thailand is amazing. This is a once in a lifetime type of place. Parts of movies have been filmed here. There are private villas with a baby elephant named KoKo. It was fun to feed him bananas and watch him do tricks. I also got to go on a short walk on the beach with the elephant. I also went peddle boating around some of the rock formations coming out of the water just off of the shore.

Krabi is beautiful and not as crowded as Phuket.

Next stop is Bangkok.

Singapore

Singapore is fabulous! The dining, food and shopping is great. This is a great place for kids and families. Singapore is safe, clean and beautiful.

You have to go to the night safari! It is absolutely amazing. There are not traditional bars and walls as there is in zoos in the United States. It was such a wonderful adventure. They have engineered the safari very well. You also have to do the Singapore flyer so you can see everything from above.

The museum was great, there were a lot of history facts and it had a wonderful art exhibit that reminded me of Austria.

I am off to Thailand.

The Caribbean

After the trip to Miami Beach, I went on a cruise. The cruise departed out of Puerto Rico.

The cruise ship had a big, fun water slide. The nightly entertainment was great, there were magic shows and 80’s and 90’s acts. The kids club was fun but a little crowded at times. The food on the ship was fabulous, especially the dinners.

The ports of call for the cruise were:

St. Thomas – I would definitely recommend the snorkeling there. There were a lot of beautiful fish and turtles just off the beach. I took a catamaran to St. John to explore.

Barbados – I saw big, green monkeys walking around the island. They reminded me of cats. It was great to tour the old historical parts of the island.

St. Kitts – This island was interesting. The Dutch side of the island was a lot nicer and cleaner than the French side.

St. Lucia – They have a lot of great bargains on clothes and souvenirs. The jungle was really cool.

St. Maartan – I enjoyed touring the historical sites.

South Beach – Miami Beach

I was in South Beach during the NBA playoffs. Since the Miami Heat was in the finals and eventually won the championship the W South Beach was very busy but incredible. It was great to sit out and have breakfast by the pool and go on morning walks on the beach. I have discovered through my travels that there are bigger and better shells on the beaches from the Atlantic Ocean rather than the Pacific Ocean.

When you are in Miami, you have to go to Prime 112 and Prime Italian. I think they are some of the best places to eat. I love the meatball sandwiches. At Prime 112 you need to have the s’mores dessert. It is fabulous.

Also, don’t forget to jet ski while in Miami. The water and beaches are cleaner in Miami than Bali and overall it is more fun to jet ski in Miami.
Miami Beach is always a blast.
